Used Cars: Too Good To Be True Deals?

We all try to get the best bang for our buck. The used car
industry does not have the best reputation in honesty and
integrety. I guess the old saying "a few bad apples..." So is
there such thing in the used car industry as a deal too good
to be true?

We have all been in the used vehicle market trying to buy the
best vehicle for the least amount of money.  We are constantly
looking for a vehicle that is under priced but is in immaculate
condition.  Once and a while we find that person trying to
get rid of their vehicle for an incredible price; is it to good
to be true?

Beware!  Many times if a vehicle is priced so low there is a
reason for it.  Many times that reason is because there is
something wrong with the vehicle!  Most times, it has been in a
serious accident and the insurance company declared it as
being totaled.  You need to be especially cautious of these
deals and have your homework done. So how do we tell if this is
a good deal or a lemon?  Let's examine further!

So, how do you tell if this vehicle is a golden deal or a lemon?
Well, the first thing that I would look at even before
looking at the vehicle is the title.  If the vehicle has been in a
bad accident or if the mileage has been tampered with you
can normally tell by looking at the title.   If the seller
won't let you see the title, or if he can't find it, then I
would begin to become suspicious.

Another scenario is this one; they will have had a new title
made for the vehicle.  Many times they say that the original
title was lost and so they had to get a new one.  Sometimes
this may be true, but many times it is just an easy way to
hide the information that was on the original title.

If you are unsure about the car that you are considering to
buy, then check it out online.  The technology that we have
today is incredible, and we should use it to the best of our
ability.  It can save us a lot of money at the same time.

Bottom line is, if a deal seems just to good to be true; it
normally is!  Unless the seller is someone you can trust and
you are sure that the car is legit I would tread cautiously.
