Field Service Manuals (FSM) or Automotive Repair Manualsare one of the most important items you can have in your tool chest. Although you can now purchase online systems for hundreds or dollars and/or monthly subscriptions, the old fashion automotive repair manuals work just fine and are great to have on-hand in the garage.
If you are buying a used, repairable, salvaged or even new car, truck or motorcycle you should invest in the field service manual for the make, model and year of the vehicle you have. There are many authoritative automotive manuals available, but I personally like to have the manufacturer manual as it will generally list more details and will contain supplement wiring diagrams and chassis information.

Automotive repair manuals are cheap to buy used so there is no reason not to buy one for each vehicle you own or want to buy.
